Christopher Rodrigues (popularly known as ‘Kutty Chris’) and Vivek Menzel also known as ‘Zal’, along with Naveen, a technically brilliant lead guitarist, Jason on keyboards, Abhishek on bass and Timothy on vocals got together and decided to play together as Paradigm Shift. Having been experienced and talented in their individual fields the band kicked off immediately. They played a couple of shows together for a year, then they found that everyone got busy with their own careers, other music projects, so the band fell asleep.

In April 2005, Vivek Menzel, feeling a bit bored looked up his phone address book and realized he had 2 really old friends Gerard Roy (known as Gerry) and Herbert Paul, with whom he had played earlier separately in various projects, were not doing anything in music, so he decided he would first call them over for dinner to his house and so he said “Lets meet for dinner and also bring your instruments we shall just JAM”, this was enough for the 2 starved musicians, so they came in right away. Vivek introduced them to Chris and then they started jamming like there was no tomorrow and went on till early next morning. This gave birth to the revival of Paradigm Shift. So they first started off by playing at fete de la musique 2005 as ‘Razors Edge’, later changed it back to Paradigm Shift.

Then realized, they needed a full time frontman rather than Vivek singing behind the drums. So immediately confronted Niranjan Joseph, another starved musician, who along with Vivek and Herbert has done 3 Gospel Rock Albums in the band Sardis, came in right away. It took sometime to get the rust of his vocals and then he just got back to his good old days. Thus, started the new revived Paradigm Shift.
