It was the year 1992. And everyone was thinking and feeling metal...heavy metal. And this was when Vineesh.V(bass n vocals) formed The band called Avalanche with Herbert Paul (guitars) and Raj Sampath (Drums),playing covers from bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Rush, Megadeth etc. The begenning of 94 saw the advent of guitarist Ajay Philip, this year the band played their first show outside Bangalore...Goa hmmm I say again Goa .As destiny would have it Mid 94 Herbert left the band due to the hectic schedule of the band . And this was when the amazingly talented though inexperienced guitarist Robert D’Souza filled the vacuum that was left by Herbert. Towards the end of 94 the band had changed its name to Lucidreams for what and why....classifid info . 95 saw the entry of Binush (keyboard), the band and went on to win 1st place in the all India Semi pro competition at Madras Medical College. And in 96 Lucidreams won the all India Semi pro competition at National Law School Bangalore After which the band stopped playing competitions. It was time to move on.. time to get paid for Rock n' roll......and as most bands dreamed of it LD was now a professional outfit. With this line up the last show Lucidreams played at Hoodi village Bangalore (97) other bands featured were Agni and Pentagram. In 98 High Octave Rock fest saw Lucidreams with Vineesh and a set of new musicians they were the show down band, featured bands included Grandfathers of Indian Rock.. Indus Creed ,Papa ..Shiva Pentagram, Agni, Parikrama . Vineesh went on to play with the Lucidreams banner with various other musicians till 2001( Last show KREC Suratkal). And then put the name on hibernation mode. Musicians who played with Lucidreams.... Suri Sequera, Allwyn Fernandes ,Bruce lee Mani, Gautham Mysore, Praveen David(Guitars), Sunil Chandy, Gulsheer Amhed (Bass). Marcos Rodrigues (Drums), Gopi (Percussion).
Life went on ...so did metal .... and there were new musicians..some good and some not so good..hmph... what was to be of Lucid… Well they were only meant to kick some rear end..and so they did.. . The year 2006 saw the advent of an 'Unkown Quantity' Stehen Anthony Jebraj..and also the return of Robert..Stephen hmmmm a proper metal drummer..from the asembly line of Geofry Pope... Stephen with the time spent with bands like Epitaph and Strombringer...Robert with all the time in the US of A ... having played with world renowned names like Frank Gambale.., It was to be and it will Lucid with 2 decades of experience hard work toil and some good fortune was meant to revisit the Bangalore metal scene..and so they have. With a few gigs up their belt and a lots more to come the band is presently working on their album which is almost complete..
